The buyer of this Mid Century Modern house could see through the outdated façade and had a clear vision of what it could be. Topping the list of improvements were opening up walls, simple low maintenance materials with a natural color palette and an atmosphere conducive to working from home. Knocking through a front closet and a wall that separated the dining room and kitchen was no small feat. It required relocating major appliances and reorganizing some mechanical equipment in the ceiling. A timeless simple white shaker cabinet layered with white counters and white backsplash was highlighted with some rich cherry shelves. In the shuffle of appliances, an existing pass through looked into a back room filled with uplifting light that would serve perfectly for an office, complete with its own entrance. The pass through coupled with opening other walls created a great sightline from one end of the house the other.
