We added a bit more glaze and distressing to give that time worn look to the cabinets. Instead of leaving a gap above the cabinets, we decided to stack cabinets to the ceiling a make feature display for all the items collected to go above the last kitchen. The granite at the last house was pretty, but it was only moderately interesting so the owner’s decided to invest more into a WOW material that they could use as counter and splash. Clever storage was created to hide the mixer in the island and to create pantry space without a traditional pantry. And while sit down desks are being replaced more and more, a counter height planning station was created for charging and browsing away from food prep and dish washing.
