RIM Rustic Modern Industrial
Long overdue! This house was long overdue for an overhaul. In the kitchen, new appliances, new flooring, taking down walls and soffits, adding new cabinets and counters were on the docket. In the bathrooms, additional storage along with an overall update of all materials and appearance was the goal. In short, everything needed to be done.

We took inspiration from a cabinet manufacturer’s catalog for storage in the guest bath while adding a simple linen cabinet in the master along with more drawers was enough to do the trick for storage. Flooring was predetermined from a shower redo before I came into the picture and it guided the selections for cabinets and counters. The kitchen is another story. I suggested taking down one wall will minimal ramifications and next thing we were looking at knocking down loadbearing walls and removing soffits carrying important mechanical components. Fun! We carried the cabinet used in the bathrooms but elected for a more traditional floor and rustic backsplash to nod back to the Spanish style of the home. The owner’s hearts were bursting with color, so they took some chances with bold colors and industrial ductwork to put their mark on the final outcome.
